What is Tie-dye?
Dipping a piece of fabric with pieces tied with threads or elastic in a bucket of clothing paint results in an artistic, fun whole. This technique is called Tie-Dye.
It was an assignment at school years ago and I immediately thought it was great!
Allthough I no longer have my
tie-dye scarf from back then, that was a cool result!
Tie-dye is now also possible digitally.
With Paint.net you can also apply the tie-dye effect.
On the official
forum of this free program, this English tutorial describes how to, step by
step. https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/113605-tie-dye-effect/
The
plugins you need for this are also mentioned. (The third plugin mentioned
there is not necessary and no longer available.)

In this video on YouTube a short version of how I do it (based on the forum-tutorial).
Dutch spoken, however subtitles in preferred language are
available.
This way I've created a few tie-dye designs.
